because research is poetic.

The language of academia is not beyond any of us.

Underneath the long acronyms, the units we rarely encounter in our day-to-day lives, the colorful imagery that captivates our senses, and the graphical abstracts that resemble geometric brain teasers, there lies a common thread.

We just helped you. You’re welcome.

This is the summation of all scientific literature ever to grace the publishing sphere and that which is yet to come.

We just helped you. Clap hands and say thank you.

Science is about you. How we (the researchers) helped find a cure for your allergies, for your hair loss, for cancer, how we discovered which makeup ingredients are more compatible with your skin, how we know which ones aren’t compatible, how we figured out why you think your favorite color is red, and how we know which gene makes you think cilantro tastes like soap.

Science is about you, and maybe you forgot, but it’s always been.

Viola is a New York City native. She is a seasoned writer, biomedical researcher, cook, hairstylist and lover of all entrepreneurial pathways. When she’s not expanding the acce-Sci-ble platform she can be found pondering the human condition, spending time with familt and friends, solving the mysteries of her African American ancestral genealogy, or dreaming of being a wedding planner.

Nothing is a failure. Each step is an experiment.
